Two bedrooms
Great for a young family or a group of friends. .
Many of the original timber beams have been retained or recycled to try and honour the heritage of this old building whilst ensuring that it is a comfortable, cosy space to spend time in.
A large arched doorway and roof lights let plenty of light into the open plan kitchen/dining/living area.
The double bedroom, with en suite, is on the upper floor beyond the kitchen. The second bedroom is downstairs with an adjacent bathroom.
There is a secluded picnic bench outside the front door with views to the nearby fells and in full sun from dawn til dusk during the summer.

As with our other cottages, The Hayloft has:

A well-equipped kitchen with electric cooker, toaster, kettle and microwave plus dishwasher and fridge (with a small freezer). Dish cloths, tea towels, washing up brush, eco washing up liquid and eco dishwasher detergent are provided.
Freesat/Smart TV.
Fibre broadband and mobile coverage for most networks.
Bathrooms with a shower, basin and toilet. Towels, hand soap, bath mat and toilet rolls are provided.
Electric heating and hot water.
A high chair available on request.
Bedding provided (including spares on request if needed).
A clothes rack/airer.
Local maps for you to borrow from the house if you need them. We are also very happy to recommend walks.
A selection of some of our favourite books for you to enjoy during your stay.

To comply with local Fire Safety Regulations we can only allow guests who would be able to escape through a standard fire safety window (2' x 2') to stay in the upstairs bedroom. This would only be required in extreme circumstances as the barn construction complies with the latest fire safety building specifications including the installation of sensitive heat and smoke sensors which would raise the alarm at the earliest opportunity to enable exit through the main doorway.
A stairgate is fitted at the top of the stairs for use with young children as the living space is upstairs.
The cottages are “Shoes-off” inside so please bring your slippers or cosy socks.

This is a working farm where there are vehicles, working dogs, barbed wire fences, livestock, streams and steep ground. Children should be supervised outside at all times.
Jim and Victoria live on site and are usually on hand for help and advice.
