The Barn (sleeps 2 - 5)

• Two bedrooms
• Our largest cottage in the corner of the courtyard has plenty of space for all the family.
• The kitchen/dining area is in the main ‘hall’ with a dramatic double height ceiling which retains all the old beams and allows in plenty of natural light from the large arched glass doorway
• Both bedrooms are spacious and comfortable; a double upstairs with en suite and a twin/double downstairs with ample room for a third pull out bed if needed.
• The downstairs bathroom is a wetroom with shower, accessible to wheelchair users.
• The sitting room, with a private outside patio, has large windows for views of the surrounding fells and is a real suntrap in the morning. The sun sets into the courtyard in the late afternoon making it an ideal place to relax with a glass of something after a hard day out and about.

As with our other cottages, The Barn has:

• A well-equipped kitchen with electric cooker, toaster, kettle and microwave plus dishwasher and fridge (with a small freezer). Dish cloths, tea towels, washing up brush, eco washing up liquid and eco dishwasher detergent are provided.
• Freesat/Smart TV.
• Fibre broadband and mobile coverage for most networks.
• Bathrooms with a shower, basin and toilet. Towels, hand soap, bath mat and toilet rolls are provided.
• Electric heating and hot water.
• A high chair available on request.
• Bedding provided (including spares on request if needed).
• A clothes rack/airer.
• Local maps for you to borrow from the house if you need them. We are also very happy to recommend walks.
• A selection of some of our favourite books for you to enjoy during your stay.

Wheelchair Access

The ground floor of, and access to, The Barn have been designed to be wheelchair friendly. This includes access to all the living areas and the downstairs double/twin bedroom. The ground floor bathroom has been designed as a wet room to allow wheelchair access.

Need to know

• The cottages are “Shoes-off” inside so please bring your slippers or cosy socks.

• We will be making a laundry area with washing machine available in the near future. In the meantime, if you have some laundry that needs to be washed we are happy to do this up at the house.
• This is a working farm where there are vehicles, working dogs, barbed wire fences, livestock, streams and steep ground. Children should be supervised outside at all times.
• Jim and Victoria live on site and are usually on hand for help and advice.

• We do not accept dogs in The Barn.
